A1 Control is developing an engaging, game-like computer application for patients who must use sophisticated glucose monitoring devices to treat diabetes mellitus. The application will assess the patient’s current level of knowledge, provide personalized education more quickly and cost-efficiently than current approaches, and provide feedback to therapy providers regarding patient performance – facilitating greater use of the state-of- the-art glucose monitoring technology.

Description: Currently, valve choices for trans catheter aortic and mitral valve replacement (TAVR) are driven by relationships, brand and price rather than objective measurement of which valve will have the best patient outcome. Dasi Simulations aims to take the guesswork out of valve choice by using technology for TAVR planning, called “Precision TAVI,” which uses a patient’s preoperative, computed tomography angiograms to pre-screen different TAV options with associated adverse outcomes using advanced predictive biomechanical modeling. The Dasi platform is built upon an extensive body of research conducted at Ohio State by former Professor Lakshmi Dasi.

Description: Engage Health is developing a-HEART (Heart health Evaluation Algorithm in Real Time) to evaluate heart health in breast cancer survivors. a-HEART is a SaaS (Software as a Service) product, or tool, used primarily by a nurse practitioner that integrates real time information about heart health factors from a survivor’s electronic health record and visually displays the information on a mobile health screen or a healthcare provider’s computer screen. aHEART is a novel solution for this market segment to comprehensively assess heart health, having undergone feasibility, usability, accessibility and proof-of-concept testing with oncologists, primary care practitioners, advanced practice nurses and cancer survivor stakeholder groups. aHEART can increase early heart health intervention, leveraging telehealth tools, transcending time and geography. The aHEART intervention platform integrates with the EHR, using SMART on FHIR technology to improve monitoring and management by clinicians and to deliver precision interventions to survivors.
