Aleph Innovations secures spot in President’s Buckeye Accelerator

Aleph Innovations, a pioneering student-led startup employing artificial intelligence to tackle healthcare sector challenges, has secured a spot in the President’s Buckeye Accelerator after previously not advancing.

The Aleph Innovations team is comprised of Daniel Tcheurekdjian, Joshua Klasmeier , Chris McCann, and Mykenna Roy. Their focus is creating, constructing, and implementing technologies aimed at enhancing the well-being of all people.

“Fundamentally, we develop artificially intelligent systems in order to address systemic issues in the healthcare system,” said Daniel Tcheurekdjian, Founder and CEO of Aleph Innovations. “We consider significantly more data at a greater fidelity than institutions do currently, and that allows us to solve problems and automate systems in innovative ways.”

Aleph’s first product is Nexus, a scheduling and referrals software suite that uses artificial intelligence to analyze patient conditions and direct them to care providers.

The AI systems that power Nexus consist of three essential components. First, a natural language processing model, which interprets human-written text by converting it into a computer-readable data structure. Second, a pre-diagnostic model, which utilizes the collected data to identify potential patient conditions with over 95 percent accuracy, according to Tcheurekdjian. Finally, a provider analysis model analyzes and sorts care providers to identify the most suitable one for treating the patient's condition.

“You don't have to go through referral links, you don't have to see five unnecessary providers, and the result of this is that we direct people to exactly where they need to go in much less time, driving more value for hospital systems while taking a lot of strain off of public and community health focused departments and disciplines.” Tcheurekdjian said.

The Keenan Center for Entrepreneurship at The Ohio State University provides extensive programming and pathways for student startups to connect with mentors who support them along their entrepreneurial path. Saket Agrawal, leveraging years of co-founding experience in Columbus' healthcare arena, closely collaborates with the team, aiding in the refinement of their business model.

“That process of building a company, scaling, and raising rounds is a trial by fire and being a startup CEO is extremely challenging while also rewarding,” Agrawal said. “After seeing the impact a single company can have, I see the ability to amplify by working with multiple startups. I have great passion to help others achieve that scale and navigate that journey so they can achieve their missions.”

Aleph Innovations stressed that their unwavering commitment to their objectives is deeply rooted in their mission to create a meaningful impact by assisting others.

“We put our heads down and we kept moving forwards. We kept building our technology,” said Tcheurekdjian when asked about Aleph’s previous failure to advance. “The advantage of us working on helping people and addressing issues that we're passionate about is that we’re always motivated to try harder.”
