SEED is an integrated research and entrepreneurial training program, combining a summer research-intensive internship with participation in the summer offering of the Best of the Student Startups (BOSS) program. SEED provides an introduction to research and entrepreneurship early in the students’ college career to allow follow-on training opportunities and engagement in the continuum of entrepreneurial training. Undergraduate students are paired with research active PIs engaged in technology translation, entrepreneurship and a strong mentoring track record. In the lab, students receive mentoring from faculty PIs, postdocs, graduate students and near peers. In addition, students receive mentoring from experienced entrepreneurs through the BOSS program.
